William Gallas Threat?

September 5, 2006

chelsea-soccer-ball.jpgAllegedly, former Chelsea defender William Gallas threatened the Blues management that he would score an own goal, or purposely get sent off if he were forced to play in Chelsea’s EPL opener against Manchester City.

The threat was said to be in an effort to force a deal that would allow Gallas to move away from the Stamford Bridge outfit.

Gallas denies the charges, stating “I am surprised and shocked by these claims.”

Based on the charges, it would seem wise for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger to take extra care in keeping William Gallas happy at his new home. Most notably prior to Champions League outings and the like.

It’s not hard to imagine the grief Gallas will receive next time a shot deflects off him and in.

Heinous charges if untrue. Bad karma, if they are.arsenal-soccer-ball.gif
