In 2008, when FIFA regulations require all-seater stadiums, Boca Juniors “La Bombonera” stadium will likely be too small for one of South America’s most famous teams.
It’s estimated that Boca’s legendary Buenos Aires home would be reduced from its current capacity of 55,000, down to an impractical 30,000.
La Bombonera opened in 1940 and is officially named “Estadio Alberto J. Armando.” It’s original name was “Estadio Camilo Cichero.”
